DESCRIPTION: German, Winterhalder & Hofmeier, 8-day time & quarter striking on two gongs (bim-bam), wood and glass mantel clock retailed by Bailey, Banks & Biddle, Philadelphia.
CONDITION: Mahogany or walnut case with beveled glass panels is in nice condition in original finish with a couple of scratches on the top. Original silvered dial is tarnished with more general wear at the winding arbors. Hands are original with the bluing gone off the minute hand. The movement will need to be serviced as the balance - lever platform is intact, but not operational. We sold a cousin to this clock (same case) in the May '10 auction that was a Westminster chimer.
